Motion re. New College of the Humanities

•  Goldsmiths UCU reaffirms its commitment to access to education for people from diverse social and educational backgrounds.
• We condemn the establishment of an elitist, for-profit institution such as the New College of the Humanities and believe that it is not an appropriate way to deal with the government’s failure to protect the arts and humanities, as well as higher education in general.
• Goldsmiths UCU calls on the College not to collaborate with this venture, including any requests to use College facilities or curricula, and to circulate this pledge to other colleges of the University of London.
• Goldsmiths UCU calls on UCU nationally to greylist the New College of the Humanities.
