Goldsmiths Students’ Union and Goldsmiths UCU stand in full solidarity with the people of Palestine who endure horrific daily violence under Israel’s racist settler colonial project. We condemn the escalating violence committed by Israeli Occupation forces on Palestinian citizens of Gaza, worshippers at the holy site of Masjid Al-Aqsa and residents of Sheikh Jarrah. As the official Union of the Goldsmiths’ student body and the trade union representing large numbers of academic and academic-related professional staff at Goldsmiths, we stand together to demand an end to the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians that amounts to genocide under international human rights laws.

A new statement will be issued in due course. In the meantime, we reiterate our unreserved solidarity with the people of Palestine. We continue to urge all students and staff to sign the Student Statement: Israeli Violence in Jerusalem, get involved in BDS (the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement), Apartheid Off Campus, Palestine Solidarity Campaign and join protests happening across the country in solidarity with the Palestinian uprising.
